Our Staff

  • Office Manager - Dana Carnes

I was born and raised on a cattle farm in Missouri. I married an active-duty Air Force guy in 1994 and after moving 12 times over 23 years, we came to Oak Harbor after my husband retired from the Air Force so we are here to stay! This is the fourth church I've worked at over the years and I truly feel called to my church work.

  • Director of Music - Teri Ramsey

My roots in music were seeded and developed in this area playing piano at church. I've been with WPC for several years and marvel at the opportunity God has presented to me in working with so many talented individuals. Personally, I will continue to seek God's direction in worship looking at creative and unique ways to express God's love through music. My children are young women who reside in CA and OR. They continue to be my great love as I treasure moments with family. I also spend time working on musical theatre with The Whidbey Playhouse and The Anacortes Community Theatre.

  • Custodian - Bob Hughes

I was born in a small town in Pennsylvania and my aunt and uncle raised me. I joined the US Navy in 1977 and retired in 1999 as a chief petty officer. I met my wife in San Diego and we were married in 1980 and have two sons.

  • Treasurer - Gaye Litka

I have been a member of Whidbey Presbyterian since 1973 when the Navy brought my family to Oak Harbor. I worked for many years as a medical office manager and have served as our Church Treasurer since 2001. In my spare time, I enjoy participating in community theater, both onstage and behind the scenes as a director, singing with the Whidbey Community Chorus, and enjoying time with my family. On sunny summer days, you might find me sitting behind my husband Tom on our Harley enjoying the back roads of our beautiful Northwest.

I have worked with youth groups since the late 1970s at Hamburg Presbyterian Church in Hamburg, NY. I've been a member of Whidbey Presbyterian since 1997. I worked as one of the deans of students at Oak Harbor High School for 28 years, retiring in 2016. Tall Timber Ranch, a Presbyterian Church Camp, is a special place where many children and youth have given their life to God. I bring our youth to a fall and spring work weekend each year. I have also served on staff at Tall Timber for more than 20 summers. I bring the love of our Lord and love for our youth and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the youth at Whidbey Presbyterian.

Kurt just recently re-joined our staff. He served as Director of Adult Fellowship from 2005-2013, then briefly tried retirement. His love of the Church, ministry, and the Kingdom of God brought him back. His other loves are his wife, Lois, two sons, a daughter-in-law, and grandson, and his home view of the Olympics, the Sound and incredible sunsets. You can also interest him in sports, theology and 19th century Northwest history. His focus at WPC is growing the church, connecting people, building teams and exploring the ways the Holy Spirit moves His people toward Christlikeness and spiritual maturity.
